Educational Resources in Houston

Want to Make a Positive, Lasting Impact on Your Students and Community?

Here are some key statistics related to pediatric dentistry and how we can all help our kids get better access to dental education and treatment so they can keep smiling and shining through, year after year.

Approximately 20% of children ages 5 to 11 have at least one untreated decayed tooth.

Poor oral health in children can lead to difficulty eating, sleeping, and learning, affecting overall development and growth.

Only 50% of children see a dentist by their first birthday, despite recommendations to do so.

Dental sealants can prevent 80% of cavities in the back teeth (molars) for children, but less than 30% of children in low-income households receive them.

At Elite Dental Pediatrics, we believe that a visit to the dentist can and should be a highlight in your child's routine. Our combination of state-of-the-art dental care, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and fun amenities ensures that every visit leaves your child smiling brightly.

Our team is passionate about promoting healthy smiles is experience working with schools, daycares, Ministries, Youth Clubs, and other community events to educate and engage kids through our fun, interactive Dental Presentations. Pre-K to 5th grade - Dental Hygiene Engagement Curriculum

What to Expect at a School Dental Presentation?

Our dental hygienists and assistants offer engaging and educational sessions tailored to your students, from Pre-K to 5th grade. Each presentation lasts around 30 minutes, filled with fun, interactive games and demonstrations designed to help children develop lifelong healthy habits.

We use visual aids such as puppets, oversized toothbrushes, Storytelling, and more to keep kids excited and involved throughout the experience.

Topics we cover include:

Identifying healthy and unhealthy foods for teeth.

Proper brushing and flossing techniques.

What happens and what to expect during a dental appointment.

After our presentation, we are pleased to offer students a complimentary visual dental screening. While our experienced Hygienists, Dental assistants and pediatric dentists conduct their evaluations, the children will stay engaged in fun, interactive activities as they wait their turn.

What to Expect During a Visual Dental Screening:

A brief, visual inspection of your child's mouth.

An assessment to identify potential risks of tooth decay.

A take-home evaluation for parents or guardians to review.

Gift bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss for the kiddos to take home.

Albeit this screening does not include X-rays or treatments, it helps our staff identify areas of concern and provide recommendations for next steps.

After reviewing the assessment, we strongly encourage parents to schedule a full dental examination for their child at our centrally located office to ensure their oral health remains on track.
